PNP chief Sinas denies COVID-19 vaccine claim

Former special envoy to China Ramon Tulfo claimed in his column that Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Debold Sinas was vaccinated against COVID-19 in November using a Sinopharm vaccine.

Tulfo stated that he and Sinas received the Sinopharm vaccine together in November, suggesting Sinas is protected from the virus.

He further alleged that Sinas and his security escorts were inoculated with smuggled Sinopharm vaccines, a claim that echoes earlier reports about Presidential Security Group members being vaccinated.

PNP chief General Debold Sinas denied Tulfo's claim, stating that if he had been vaccinated, he would not have contracted COVID-19.

Sinas is currently under quarantine after testing positive for the disease on March 11.

Sinopharm has yet to receive emergency use authorization from the country's Food and Drug Administration.
