PNP chief orders cleanliness in stations to fight Delta variant

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar has ordered police commanders to maintain cleanliness in stations and offices as a defense against the Delta variant.

This directive comes as more police personnel are getting infected, with recent cases including 82 personnel from Talipapa Police Station in Quezon City and a lockdown in an Iloilo police station due to 20 infections.

Eleazar reiterated that cleanliness is crucial for the health and safety of PNP personnel and part of his Intensified Cleanliness Policy (ICP).

He stressed that police stations must be clean not just for compliance but for the well-being of all personnel.

Minimum health safety protocols must also be strictly observed as a proven deterrent to virus infection.

As of the latest data, a total of 30,156 PNP personnel have been infected since last year, with 82 fatalities.
