Alleged convoy of PNP chief Marbil flagged down for using EDSA busway
A convoy, allegedly belonging to PNP chief Police General Rommel Marbil, was caught using the EDSA busway along Ortigas on Tuesday.
Personnel from the DOTr-SAICT flagged down the convoy and were told that PNP chief Marbil had an emergency and was heading to Camp Crame.
Video footage showed two SUVs, a white Fortuner and a white Innova, being escorted by Highway Patrol Group motorcycles.
The SAICT operatives insisted that the vehicles were not allowed to pass through the EDSA busway as there was no prior coordination.
One of the police officers indicated that the "chief" was inside one of the vehicles.
The convoy initially fled but one vehicle later returned to receive a traffic violation ticket.
