PNP, BFP deploy over 4,500 personnel for Odette disaster response

Over 4,500 personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) have been deployed for disaster response operations in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año reported that 2,431 police officers and 2,125 firefighters are actively involved in the relief efforts.

PNP and BFP forces have been working continuously since the storm signals were raised, assisting in search and rescue operations.

Authorities have successfully evacuated at least 247,400 individuals from areas severely affected by Typhoon Odette.

Año highlighted the crucial role of the police in providing relief to local government units and typhoon victims.

Additionally, 499 firefighters were engaged in hazard response, helping citizens deal with flooding, landslides, and storm surges.
