NPA leader tagged in killing of young footballer in 2021 nabbed
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has apprehended a suspect, alias 'Onang,' in the 2021 killing of FEU footballer Keith Absalon and his cousin Nolven.
The suspect, identified as Onang, 41, is the Bicol Region's No. 1 most wanted person and an active member of the New People's Army (NPA).
She was arrested on Jan. 6 in San Fernando, Masbate.
The arrest was based on warrants related to the Absalon case, with multiple charges including violations of the International Humanitarian Law, murder, and attempted murder.
NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Undersecretary Ernesto Torres Jr. stated that the arrest brings the families closer to justice and sends a message to those who commit crimes under the guise of ideology.
