Phils logs 18,945 COVID-19 recoveries amid 18,012 new infections

The Philippines has recorded 18,945 new COVID-19 recoveries, bringing the total number of recovered individuals to 1,928,173.

The country's total COVID-19 cases have reached 2,121,308 with 18,012 new infections reported.

Active COVID-19 cases now stand at 158,637, with 92% being mild and 3.4% asymptomatic.

An additional 161 deaths were reported, increasing the total death toll to 34,498.

On September 7, the positivity rate was 28.1% based on 57,180 tests conducted.

The DOH noted that 35 duplicate entries were removed from the total case count, and 28 of these were recoveries.

105 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

Thirteen laboratories were not able to submit their data to the CDRS, representing an average of 3.6% of samples tested and 3.7% of positive individuals in the last 14 days.
