Philippines reports 4,479 new COVID-19 cases

The Philippines logged 4,479 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, bringing the total tally to 1,408,058.

This is the lowest number of new cases reported since June 23, though 14 laboratories did not submit data.

Active cases are now at 50,037, with 90.4% being mild, 4.4% asymptomatic, 2.1% severe, and 1.5% critical.

A total of 6,471 new recoveries were recorded, increasing the cumulative number of recoveries to 1,333,464.

The country's death toll increased by 101, reaching a total of 24,557.

Nine duplicates were removed from the total case count, while 28 cases previously tagged as recoveries have been validated to be active cases.

Further, 75 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

Nationwide, 55% of ICU beds are utilized, while 36% of ventilators are in use.
