Navy redeploys troops to assist in enforcing quarantine rules in MECQ areas
Around 300 Philippine Navy troops have been redeployed to assist in enforcing modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) protocols in Metro Manila and other high-risk provinces.
These troops are part of the Joint Task Force - National Capital Region of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and will aid other law enforcement agencies.
The redeployment began Tuesday to ensure strict implementation of quarantine protocols to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The national government placed the National Capital Region and the provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal under MECQ from August 4 to 18.
The Philippine Navy vowed to double its efforts to help the national government combat the disease.
