Philippine Navy deploys 175 personnel to Indonesia for multilateral naval exercise

The Philippine Navy has deployed a contingent of 175 personnel aboard the BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PS-16) to participate in the 5th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) 2025 in Bali, Indonesia.

The send-off ceremony for the contingent, known as Naval Task Group (NTG) 84, was held on February 8 at the Naval Operating Base in Subic Bay, Zambales, led by Marine Brigadier General Edwin E. Amadar.

The MNEK 2025 is scheduled to take place from February 16 to 22 and will include activities categorized into Fleet Activity, Maritime Hospitality, and Community Relations.

Captain Malone Agudelo is leading the Naval Task Group 84, and Captain Glenn Z. Dizon will serve as the exercise director for the Philippine contingent.

The biennial exercise will be participated in by 31 countries.

Fleet Activity features the International Fleet Review and Subject Matter Expertise Exchange, while Maritime Hospitality includes the International Maritime Security Symposium and bilateral meetings.

Community Relations activities include a Medical Civic Action Program, Baby Turtle Release, Coral Planting, and a Taekwondo Tournament.
