Philippine Blu Girls rout Hong Kong to set up bronze medal match with Chinese Taipei

The Philippine Blu Girls secured a spot in the bronze medal match of the Women's Softball Asia Cup after defeating Hong Kong 12-0 in an abbreviated four-inning game.

This victory served as a strong bounce back from their earlier consecutive losses to China and Chinese Taipei.

The Blu Girls will now face Chinese Taipei in a rematch for the bronze medal, seeking payback after their initial 0-3 defeat.

During their game against Hong Kong, Angelu Gabriel and Nicole Hammoude sparked the Philippine offense with two run-batted-in doubles from Roma Jane Cruz in the first inning.

The lead expanded to 6-0 in the second inning, with further runs scored in the third, leading to the game being called early.

Despite these results, the Blu Girls have already qualified for the 2026 Women's Softball World Cup and the 20th Asian Games in Japan.
