PAGASA: Rains persist nationwide due to 3 weather systems

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that most areas in the country will continue to experience rains due to three prevailing weather systems.

Scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms caused by the shear line are expected in the Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, and Aurora.

The easterlies will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to Caraga and Davao, while the northeast monsoon or "amihan" will cause rains in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and parts of Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

PAGASA warned of potential flash floods or landslides in the affected areas due to moderate to heavy rains.

Isolated light rains are also forecast over the rest of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon, and scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over the rest of Mindanao due to the easterlies.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are anticipated in Luzon and Visayas, while Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.

PAGASA has not monitored any low pressure areas that could develop into a tropical cyclone.
