PH receives over 1.4M vaccine doses in 2 days

The Philippines received an additional 578,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Friday, August 13, 2021, arriving via a China Airlines flight at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

Two million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine were also received on Thursday, August 12, 2021, as part of the government's procured doses.

In the preceding days, the country received 100,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine and 813,150 doses of Pfizer vaccine on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

Fifteen thousand doses of Sputnik V vaccine arrived on Friday afternoon, August 13, 2021, via a Qatar Airways flight.

With these latest arrivals, the total vaccine inventory in the Philippines has reached over 42.1 million doses.

The Sinovac vaccines now constitute 22.5 million out of the total inventory.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that the Sputnik V doses will be used for the second dose inoculation of priority individuals.

He also mentioned that doses will be distributed to areas with surging cases, including Metro Manila.
