Over 365,000 Pfizer vaccine doses arrive in PH

Over 365,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, procured by the government, arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday night, August 18.

The doses were allocated with 51,480 delivered to Cebu, another 51,480 expected for Davao City, and the remaining 262,080 sent to a cold-chain facility in Marikina City for distribution to the National Capital Region and other areas.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that these vaccines will be distributed to areas that have not yet received Pfizer doses.

Galvez mentioned that additional shipments of five million Pfizer doses are anticipated in September.

He also noted that with this delivery, the Philippines has received a total of 2,116,530 Pfizer doses procured by the national government, in addition to 2,472,210 donated doses from the COVAX facility.
