The Philippine government has partially lifted travel restrictions to South Korea, allowing Filipinos to travel to most parts of the country.
This decision was recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) during their 9th meeting.
Filipinos traveling to South Korea, excluding North Gyeongsang Province including Daegu City and Cheongdo County, will be required to sign a declaration acknowledging the risks.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III stated that the partial lifting is due to South Korea's stringent infection control measures, low case fatality rate, and contained local transmission.
The IATF also expanded travel exemptions for dependents of permanent residents of South Korea, Hong Kong, and Macau, requiring a similar risk-acknowledgment declaration.
Additionally, the Department of Foreign Affairs will repatriate 148 overseas Filipinos from Macau, and OWWA will repatriate 48 active members, with returning OFs undergoing screening and quarantine.
