OCTA: PH Covid positivity rate down to 13.2%

The COVID-19 positivity rate in the Philippines dropped to 13.2% as of June 11, 2023, according to OCTA Research.

In Metro Manila, the seven-day testing positivity rate decreased to 11.6% as of June 10, down from 16.7% on June 3.

Positivity rates increased in Cagayan, Camarines Sur, La Union, Oriental Mindoro, Pampanga, and Tarlac, while decreasing in many other provinces.

Oriental Mindoro saw its positivity rate increase to 48.3% from 43.2%, Camarines Sur to 34.9% from 34.2%, Pampanga to 29.9% from 27.5%, and Cagayan to 28.8% from 27.2%.

Positivity rates also dropped in many parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, except for Aklan, Negros Occidental and South Cotabato.

OCTA fellow Fredegusto P. David stated that daily coronavirus cases in the Philippines would likely fall to fewer than 1,000 starting this week.

David also mentioned that with a 10 percent positivity rate, it is relatively safe, but warned that the unvaccinated are still at higher risk of severe COVID-19.
