PH Consulate in Sydney checks for Filipino casualties in Bondi Beach shooting

The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney is coordinating with Australian authorities to determine if any Filipinos were among the casualties of a mass shooting at Bondi Beach.

As of Monday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that there are no confirmed Filipinos affected by the incident.

A father-and-son duo opened fire near a gathering of over 1,000 people celebrating the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, killing 15 people and wounding dozens more.

The youngest victim was a 10-year-old girl and the oldest was 87, with 42 others hospitalized, including two police officers.

Australian authorities have stated there is no longer an active threat but are urging the public to stay away from the area.
