PCSO mounts relief drives in flood-hit Valenzuela, Navotas
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has initiated relief operations for areas impacted by Super Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order.
PCSO General Manager Mel Robles led the relief drive in flood-hit Valenzuela and Navotas, distributing relief goods packed in 'charitimba' water pails.
Robles stated that PCSO branch offices and small-town lottery authorized agency corporations are simultaneously conducting relief drives nationwide.
He handed over 500 'charitimba' to Valenzuela Mayor Wesley Gatchalian and 500 packs to the representative of Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco.
Additionally, 150 pails were given to Barangay Damayan in Quezon City.
The distribution was previously deferred due to widespread flooding that made roads impassable.
