PCAB revokes 9 construction licenses over bid rigging admission

The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) has revoked the licenses of nine construction firms owned or controlled by Sarah and Curlee Discaya.

This action follows Sarah Discaya's admission under oath during a Senate committee hearing that these firms participated in bidding for the same government projects.

The PCAB cited that the continued accreditation of these corporations is detrimental to public interest, industry integrity, and government procurement transparency.

Discaya's testimony raised concerns about potential collusion and schemes that suppress fair bidding outcomes, violating licensing and procurement laws.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is also investigating eight luxury cars found at the Discaya compound for incomplete documents.

The BOC will also look into reports of other contractors in flood control projects owning private jets and helicopters.
