PBBM respects House probe into Dolomite Beach project

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. respects the House of Representatives' probe into the controversial Manila Bay Dolomite Beach Project, according to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro.

Castro emphasized the principle of separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches, stating the President respects Congress's mandate.

House panel chair Ridon clarified that the inquiry, set to begin on November 19th, is part of Congress's oversight powers and not politically motivated or aimed at former President Duterte.

The probe will examine the project's necessity, alignment with the Manila Bay Sustainable Development Master Plan, the Supreme Court's continuing mandamus for Manila Bay's rehabilitation, and whether any individuals profited from it.

ACT Teachers Party-list Representative Antonio Tinio supported the probe, noting that millions were utilized for the project despite it not being a true rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
