PBBM orders agencies to stay vigilant during Holy Week

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed government agencies, particularly law enforcement, to remain vigilant and continue serving the public during the Holy Week, emphasizing that the government should not take a break even as many citizens are on vacation.

He stated that incidents and crimes can still occur, and law enforcers must not sleep on their duties to ensure public security.

The Philippine National Police has deployed approximately 40,000 personnel nationwide for peace and order during the Holy Week and summer season.

The President also issued a directive to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to intensify their monitoring as the public starts travelling to their hometowns for the holidays.

Official holidays for the observance are April 17 (Maundy Thursday) and April 18 (Good Friday) as regular holidays, with April 19 (Black Saturday) declared a special non-working day.
