PBBM attends inauguration of Indonesia's President Prabowo

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos attended the inauguration of Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Sunday in Jakarta.

The Philippine President joined other world leaders at the ceremony held at the House of Representatives Building, and was invited by Prabowo's predecessor, Joko Widodo.

Marcos congratulated the new Indonesian leaders, reaffirming the Philippines' desire to further strengthen bilateral ties with Indonesia.

He noted that Indonesia is one of the Philippines' long-standing partners and closest friends in the region, highlighting their shared history as founding members of ASEAN.

Prabowo visited Manila last month and met with Marcos at Malacañang Palace where they affirmed their vision for their nations' greater ties.

The President and First Lady returned to the Philippines early Monday morning, October 21.

Indonesian police and military deployed at least 100,000 personnel across Jakarta for the event.
