PBBM assures gov't on top of POGO-linked crimes

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. assured the public that the government is on top of the situation concerning crimes linked to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

He acknowledged public concern over criminal activities associated with POGOs disrupting community peace, stating the government is monitoring and addressing these issues.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has established a task force to investigate illicit activities involving POGOs.

This task force was formed after a raid on Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga, which was suspected of involvement in kidnapping, illegal detention, torture, human trafficking, and sex trafficking.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) is considering recommending a gradual phaseout of POGOs in the country.
