Marcos Jr. rejects Cabinet officials' resignations

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has rejected the courtesy resignation of over a dozen Cabinet officials, including Secretaries of Agriculture, Agrarian Reform, Education, Labor, Social Welfare, Health, Migrant Workers, Science, Tourism, DICT, Transportation, and DPWH.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin announced that the retained officials performed "up to par" based on the President's assessment.

The President has accepted the courtesy resignations of non-departmental Cabinet officials such as Meynard Sabili of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor, Presidential Assistant for Visayas Terence Calatrava, and Presidential Adviser on Muslim Affairs Almarim Tillah.

The services of Menandro Espineri as presidential adviser for special concerns have also been terminated.

Separately, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon estimated the suspended EDSA rehabilitation project could cost up to P15 billion if conducted until 2027.

Senator Risa Hontiveros described the delays in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte as "obstructions dressed up as protocol."
