PBA Season 50 to launch with fan events and awards on Oct 4-5

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is set to launch its 50th season on October 4 and 5 with a weekend dedicated to celebrating its rich history and engaging with fans.

The celebration will feature a gathering of past and present PBA personalities at the Meralco Theater on October 4 to reminisce about memorable moments.

Before the gala, members of the current 12 PBA ballclubs will interact with fans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The following day, the Leo Awards will honor the past season's achievers, followed by the official opening ceremonies for Season 50 at the Big Dome.

PBA chairman Ricky Vargas will formally open the season, which will commence with a single showcase game.

Defending champions TNT will aim to retain their Governors' Cup and Commissioner's Cup titles, while San Miguel Beer looks to hold onto its All-Filipino crown.

PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial stated that the year-long celebration, themed 'Solid Ang Galing, Solid ang Laban,' aims to entertain fans with exciting games and bring the league closer to them.
