Patrick Gregorio assumes PSC chairmanship

Patrick "Pato" Gregorio officially took his oath of office as the new Chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday, succeeding Richard Bachmann.

His oath-taking was administered by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, with his family and BCDA Chairperson Hilario Paredes also present.

Gregorio, the 13th PSC Chairman, expressed his commitment to helping develop Philippine sports during the Philippine Sportswriters Association forum.

Under his leadership, the Philippines will compete in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this December.

The country is also set to host two international events: the FIVB World Championship in September and the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup in November.

Gregorio previously served as chairman of the Philippine Basketball Association and president of the Philippine Rowing Association.
