Pangasinan PGI probes infant abduction from hospital

The Provincial Government of Pangasinan is investigating the disappearance of a three-day-old infant from Lingayen District Hospital.

The infant has since been reunited with the family after being rescued along with the arrest of the abductor during an entrapment operation.

The investigation was initiated after the baby's family filed a formal complaint and a social media post went viral, alleging the infant was abducted by someone posing as a nurse.

The family recounted that the impostor, wearing a green scrub suit and face mask, claimed blood needed to be drawn from the baby for testing.

The mother, who was recovering from a cesarean operation, complied with the request while the father was settling hospital bills.

Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III ordered an immediate probe and assured tighter security in all hospitals and medical facilities in the province, including the installation of CCTV cameras.

Authorities are conducting a deeper investigation to identify others possibly involved.
