Pangasinan extends EECQ until April 21 amid 33 COVID-19 cases

Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino III has extended the Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine (EECQ) across the entire province until April 21, 2020.

The decision was made based on the COVID-19 situation report in the province as of April 14, 2020, which indicated 33 confirmed cases, including 9 fatalities.

As of April 14, eight individuals have recovered from the virus, while 16 are currently hospitalized.

The governor cited the general welfare of the province and the need for additional quarantine for returning OFWs in justifying the extension.

The province has adopted all relevant orders and issuances from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and other national government agencies concerning the community quarantine.

New executive orders also provide special emphasis on the mandatory 12-hour maximum operation of establishments selling basic necessities and the unhampered transit of OFWs.
