Aklan extends ECQ, travel restrictions until April 30

Aklan has extended its enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) and travel restrictions until April 30 to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

Governor Florencio Miraflores signed Executive Order No. 21 to implement the extended quarantine, which was decided after a meeting with local health officials and organizations.

The new order supersedes Executive Order No. 20, which originally set the ECQ to end on April 14.

As of April 9, Aklan had recorded six confirmed COVID-19 cases, with five patients hospitalized and one in home quarantine.

The ECQ continues to enforce the closure of non-essential public and private offices and maintains an 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew, with exceptions for medical and authorized government personnel.
