Pangasinan confirms first COVID-19 case, a resident of Bayambang

Pangasinan has recorded its first confirmed case of COVID-19, a resident of Bayambang who died at the Lung Center of the Philippines.

The patient tested positive for the virus, with the Department of Health, Provincial Health Office, and Rural Health Unit monitoring all identified contacts.

In response to the case, Bayambang municipality is implementing a total lockdown starting March 21 until March 28, restricting all entry and exit.

Barangay Bical Norte, the residence of the patient, will also be closed off, with its residents advised to strictly practice home quarantine and undergo sanitation.

Prior to this confirmed case, Pangasinan had 28 patients under investigation, with 15 still admitted and 12 discharged, and over 49,000 persons under monitoring.
