Panelo slams CIDG chief for filing charges vs Duterte

Former presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo called CIDG chief BGen. Nicholas Torre a "tower of ignorance and an edifice of nonsense" for filing charges against former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Panelo asserted that the charges of grave threats, inciting to sedition, and unlawful utterances are dismissible due to a lack of legal basis and their ludicrous nature.

He questioned the sensible and productive activities of Torre and his agency, suggesting they were engaged in foolish actions.

According to Panelo, the senators allegedly threatened by Duterte's remarks saw them merely as a joke and had not expressed concern.

He further suggested that the senators might even welcome the joke as an unintentional acknowledgment of the strength of the administration's senatorial candidates.

Duterte's remarks were made during a PDP-Laban rally where he "joked" that some senators should be killed via bombing to ensure his allies secure their seats in the upcoming midterm elections.
