Pampanga quake survivors help Taal eruption victims

Survivors of the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption in Pampanga are extending aid to victims of the Taal volcano eruption in Batangas.

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda personally delivered assistance, including basic needs for evacuees and equipment for road-clearing and evacuation.

Pineda expressed confidence that Batangas can rise again, drawing inspiration from Pampanga's recovery after the Pinatubo eruption.

The province also shared their experience in clearing and disposing of thick ash, which once threatened their farmlands.

Assistance includes 14 dump trucks, six military trucks, four wing vans, three ambulances, three coasters, three water trucks, 11 service vehicles, and four police vehicles.

Pampanga will also provide three heavy equipment units for clearing ash-covered roads.

Pineda stated the aid is a response to Batangas' call for assistance and a way of 'payback' for help received after the Pinatubo eruption.
