Malacañang says courtesy resignations aim to remove lazy, corrupt officials

Malacañang clarified that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s order for courtesy resignations from cabinet secretaries is a measure to eliminate lazy and corrupt officials.

Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro stated that the move aims to identify underperformers who are not aligned with the administration's current priorities.

Castro affirmed that the President is demonstrating strong leadership and that this is just the beginning of such measures.

She also countered Senator-elect Panfilo Lacson's suggestion for a disciplinarian, asserting that Marcos can maintain order within the government himself.

Malacañang assured the public that the recalibration of Cabinet secretaries will not affect government projects.

The administration's programs would not be halted after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered all Cabinet secretaries to submit their courtesy resignations, following the reportedly disappointing results of the midterm elections.
