PAGASA warns Cagayan River residents of rising water levels

PAGASA warned residents in low-lying areas along the Cagayan River to take necessary precautions as its water level rose above alarm level.

Some residents began preemptive evacuations on Saturday night due to fears of flooding, recalling the recent deluge.

The hydrological forecast for the Cagayan River Basin indicates that flooding is a threat to the Lower Cagayan River and its tributaries, including Pinacanauan de Tuguegarao, Chico, Pared, and Dummun.

Continuous rains are expected to further raise the water level.

Low-lying areas identified as at risk include Penablanca, Tuguegarao City, Enrile, Solana, Iguig, Amulung, Alcala, Baggao, Lasam, Camalaniugan, Gattaran, Lallo, and Aparri.
