Pagasa: LPA may enter PAR, bring rains starting September

A cloud cluster east of Mindanao has the potential to develop into a low-pressure area (LPA) and bring rain showers to several parts of the Philippines starting early September.

The LPA could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) within 24 hours, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja stated that the LPA might cause rainfall particularly in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan are expected to experience overcast skies and rain showers on Friday due to the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country can anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
