Pacquiao launches presidential campaign in General Santos City

Presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao officially launched his campaign in General Santos City on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

The campaign kickoff began with a motorcade involving approximately 580 vehicles and supporters from Sarangani, Maguindanao, and South Cotabato.

The caravan traversed several barangays before concluding at the Oval Plaza Grandstand for a proclamation rally with his running mate, Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza.

PROMDI is the political party under which Pacquiao and Atienza are running, aiming to consolidate votes in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Broadcaster Raffy Tulfo and ex-Eastern Samar governor Lutgardo Barbo were present at the motorcade, while Senator Win Gatchalian was represented by Bianca Manalo.

Other candidates on Pacquiao's slate, including Senators Richard Gordon and House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda, Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero, former vice president Jejomar Binay, and former senator JV Ejercito, were expected to send video messages during the rally.
