P20 per kilo rice subsidy for transport workers starts Sept 16

The Philippine government's P20 per kilo rice subsidy program will begin serving transport sector workers starting September 16, 2025.

An initial 57,000 public transport workers, including bus, jeepney, and tricycle drivers, are eligible to purchase the subsidized rice.

Each eligible worker can buy up to 10 kilos of rice monthly at the reduced price.

Initial distribution centers are located in Quezon City, Navotas City, Angeles City, Cebu City, and Tagum City.

This expansion follows the program's earlier extension to fisherfolk last month.
