OWWA offers free transport for stranded OFWs

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) provides a free transport service called "Hatid-Sundo sa Stranded OFWs" for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) traveling to and from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals.

Launched on March 17, 2020, the service utilizes seven buses to transport OFWs to drop-off points in Dau, Pampanga; Calamba, Laguna; and within Metro Manila.

OWWA reminds the public that this service is free and warns against individuals posing as OWWA staff to charge exorbitant fees for transport.

Those proven to be using the OWWA name to deceive others will be held liable.

OFWs are advised to coordinate only with legitimate OWWA staff at NAIA Terminals 1, 2, and 3.

Complaints can be reported to OWWA's 1348 hotline.

The free transport assistance will continue until the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine is lifted.
