OVP converts dorm into free housing for frontliners

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has converted a dormitory in Cubao, Quezon City into temporary, free-of-charge housing for COVID-19 frontliners.

This initiative aims to provide much-needed accommodation for health workers and other essential personnel who are tirelessly battling the pandemic.

The dormitory will accommodate health workers, medical practitioners, security guards, and volunteers involved in the COVID-19 response efforts.

Due to limited space, accommodations will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

The OVP collaborated with the Rotary Club of San Juan del Monte, Spouses of Rotary Club of San Juan North, and Jay Ignacio to make this project possible.

Interested frontliners can reserve a slot by contacting Andrea at 0998-5917408.

This effort is part of the OVP's broader response to the COVID-19 crisis, which has also included providing free shuttle services and distributing personal protective equipment (PPE).

The OVP has distributed 20,000 sets of PPE, including extraction kits valued at P5.3 million, to hospitals nationwide, with extraction kits sufficient for 12,750 coronavirus tests delivered to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
