Manila hotels offer free lodging for health workers

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ordered all hotels and motels in the city to provide free accommodation for frontline health workers of government-owned hospitals during the enhanced community quarantine.

This initiative, outlined in Executive Order No. 17, aims to assist healthcare professionals who live outside Manila and face transportation difficulties.

Over 600 rooms from various hotels, including Sogo, Eurotel, Town and Country, Bayview Park Hotel, UN Residences, and Dormitels.ph, are available.

As of Thursday morning, 491 health workers have availed of the free lodging.

These rooms are provided by the hotels out of goodwill without payment from the city government.
