Ombudsman to examine late DPWH Usec's devices amid probe

The Office of the Ombudsman has subpoenaed the electronic devices of the late Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral for forensic examination.

The Department of Public Works and Highways confirmed it will surrender Cabral's data storage devices, documents, records, and files to the Ombudsman and the Philippine National Police.

These devices will undergo forensic examination to determine if any data was altered, deleted, or tampered with following the Flood Control Scandal.

Cabral was found unconscious on December 18 along Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet, after instructing her driver to leave her there.

While Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla confirmed Cabral died by suicide, the Philippine National Police stated its investigation is still ongoing and has not yet reached a conclusion.
