OCTA: NCR COVID-19 growth rate drops to -4%

The daily growth rate of COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila has decreased to -4%, according to OCTA Research.

This decline is based on the seven-day moving average of new infections, with a day-to-day decrease of 4% observed.

The virus reproduction number in the capital region has further dropped to 2.37, down from a peak of 6.16 on January 2.

Despite the declining trend, OCTA Research Fellow Dr. Guido David stated that Metro Manila is still considered at 'very high risk' for infections.

He advised continued vigilance and adherence to best practices until the National Capital Region (NCR) returns to moderate risk.

David also cautioned that trends must be monitored closely due to potential backlogs and late reports.
