OCTA flags CDO, Mariveles Bataan as critical COVID-19 risk areas

Independent research group OCTA has flagged Cagayan de Oro and Mariveles, Bataan as "critical risk" areas for new COVID-19 infections.

Cagayan de Oro experienced a "very high" increase in new cases, with an average of 131 cases per day from July 19-25, a significant rise from the previous week.

Mariveles, Bataan also shows critical levels in its COVID-19 infection rate and incidence per 100,000 population, with average daily new cases increasing to 55.

The Davao City, Cebu City, Makati, Iloilo, Lapu-Lapu, Laoag, General Santos, Mandaue, Baguio, Las Piñas, and Valenzuela are tagged as "high risk" areas for new infections.

OCTA flagged the "very high" one-week growth rate of cases observed in Mandaue, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu City, and Lapu-Lapu.

The one-week growth rate of infections in the National Capital Region (NCR), Valenzuela, Mariveles, and Manila was reported as "high".
