NU Bulldogs sweep UP Maroons for third straight win

The NU Bulldogs secured their third consecutive win in the UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball tournament by sweeping the UP Fighting Maroons with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, and 27-25.

Joshua Retamar was a key player for NU, achieving a career-high of 12 points with half coming from serves, and dishing out 20 excellent sets.

Jade Disquitado led the Bulldogs in scoring with 16 points and 10 excellent receptions, while Nico Almendras contributed 14 points and Leo Aringo added 12 points, including crucial plays in the third set.

This victory places NU in a second-place tie with La Salle in the standings with a 3-1 record.

UP, despite the loss, had Louis Gamban scoring 13 points and Jessie Rubin adding 11 points, but they remain winless in four games.

NU head coach Dante Alinsunurin expressed gratitude for the win and emphasized the team's improved ability to manage difficult situations, which is crucial for upcoming games.
