NTF-ELCAC asks Supreme Court to stop Gabriela from getting House seat
The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) has asked the Supreme Court (SC) to nullify the proclamation of Gabriela Women's Party as the 64th member of the House of Representatives.
NTF-ELCAC requested the SC to issue a status quo ante order (SQAO) to revert the situation to before Gabriela's proclamation.
The task force also stated that Gabriela's proclamation violates their right to have their pending disqualification petition decided by the Comelec.
NTF-ELCAC argued that Gabriela's 64th seat would unconstitutionally exceed the 20 percent ceiling for party-list representatives in the House of Representatives.
