New SM North EDSA Busway concourse inaugurated

Commuters inaugurated the new SM North EDSA Busway concourse and station on Friday, a development aimed at significantly improving the EDSA Busway system for daily commuters.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon highlighted the project's importance in reducing travel time, emphasizing the government's dedication to enhancing the transportation system.

In a departure from tradition, Dizon insisted that commuters, not officials, perform the ribbon-cutting for the state-of-the-art concourse.

He stressed that the project, donated by SM Prime Holdings Inc., is for the commuters and will provide them with more time for rest and family.

The DOTr aims to shorten each commuter's travel time by at least an hour or two.

The concourse features well-lit walkways, escalators, elevators, security systems, and facilities for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and pregnant women.

Dizon noted that this concourse will serve as a template for future EDSA Busway stations.
