Negros Occidental to impose ECQ from March 30 to April 14

The entire province of Negros Occidental will be placed under an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from March 30 to April 14 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson signed Executive Order No. 20-20, implementing strict home quarantine measures and limiting movement to essential needs.

Only private establishments providing basic necessities such as food and medical supplies, along with specific industries like BPOs and sugar centrals, will be allowed to operate with a skeletal workforce of no more than 25 percent.

Borders, ports, and airports will be closed, and all mass transportation will be suspended.

Local government units are mandated to distribute relief packages to constituents and displaced workers.

ECQ passes will be issued to essential business employees for product transport within their localities, and each household will receive a quarantine pass for one member to purchase necessities.

Authorized individuals allowed outside their residences include employees of essential businesses, government personnel, medical service providers, emergency responders, and workers in utilities and delivery services, all required to carry valid IDs and their own transportation.
