AFP to help secure Jesus Nazareno feast
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has deployed a total of 14,474 personnel for the Feast of Jesus Nazareno on January 9, 2025.
This deployment includes 12,168 NCRPO personnel for area and route security, augmented by 2,306 personnel from partner agencies.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will also deploy units to assist the Philippine National Police in securing the feast.
The AFP's Joint Task Force-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR) is coordinating with other law enforcement agencies for the Traslacion.
NCRPO acting director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin stated that intensified police visibility and aggressive operations during the holidays helped prevent criminal acts.
A similar strategy, with minor modifications, will be adopted for the Black Nazarene feast.
The feast's highlights include the Traslacion, the procession of the 400-year-old image from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.
