NCRPO deploys 10,000 cops for Holy Week security

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has deployed over 10,000 police personnel across Metro Manila for enhanced Holy Week security, with the figure increasing to 65,151 nationwide.

NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin ordered police commanders to personally supervise security measures and ensure police visibility at transportation hubs, places of worship, commercial areas, and other convergence points.

Security has also been beefed up in residential communities, with police coordinating with barangay officials and volunteer groups to deter criminals targeting houses of vacationers.

Aberin stated that the situation is peaceful so far and the NCRPO has not monitored any security threat this Holy Week.

In Quezon City, 1,858 police personnel were dispatched to various locations.

Police would maintain round-the-clock security until Easter Sunday.

Aberin urged residents to secure their homes before traveling.
