OCTA: NCR COVID-19 positivity rate continues to go up, now at 5.9%
The COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has increased to 5.9% as of June 25, surpassing the World Health Organization's benchmark of less than 5%.
This marks a continued rise from 5.6% as of June 22 and 3.9% as of June 18, according to OCTA Research.
Several other provinces also saw increases in their positivity rates, with Rizal jumping to 11.9%, Laguna to 7.5%, Cavite to 6%, and South Cotabato to 7.4%.
Batangas, Benguet, Bulacan, Cagayan, Cebu, Iloilo, and Pampanga also recorded increases in their COVID-19 positivity rates.
The Department of Health had previously noted a surge in NCR cases, though the country as a whole remained at low risk.
