NCR positivity rate down to 4.9% - OCTA
The Covid-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has dropped to 4.9 percent as of July 1, according to OCTA Research.
This is a decrease from the previous week's rate of 6 percent.
Positivity rates have also fallen below 5 percent in Laguna and Rizal, and have decreased or remained flat in many other provinces.
Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa indicated he would recommend the lifting of the state of public health emergency for Covid-19.
He believes the situation no longer constitutes a public health emergency due to available treatments and vaccines, with Covid-19 now being one of many diseases monitored by the DOH.
As of July 2, the Department of Health logged 423 new cases, bringing the overall tally to 4,165,499 with 6,925 active cases.
